Gosai OS Docs
The guide to Gosai OS, the legal platform we built for founders and growing companies.
Gosai OS is operated by Gosai Law, a regulated law firm. From one dashboard you can keep your company's records and documents in order, generate agreements from our templates, see what your company still needs and when its deadlines fall, and send legal work to our lawyers.
Legal Agreements
NDAs, employment and contractor agreements, SAFEs and more, from templates our lawyers draft and maintain, filled in from your company profile.
Document Review
Send us a contract and a lawyer reviews it. It comes back as a Word document with tracked changes and comments.
Lawyer Access
Request a service, an incorporation or custom work, message our legal team, and follow every request through to completion.
Legal Health Check
A clear reading of where your company stands legally, and what to fix first.
Deadlines and Reminders
Your company's filing deadlines in one list, with reminders for key statutory deadlines in Australia, the United Kingdom and the British Virgin Islands.
Several Jurisdictions
Incorporation in seven jurisdictions, and templates for Australia, the United States, the British Virgin Islands and the Cayman Islands.
Quick Start
Most people are set up in a few minutes. Your first session looks like this:
Create your account
Choose Get Started at app.gosai.law and sign up with your email address or your Google account. If you sign up with your email address, confirm it from the email we send you. Creating an account engages Gosai Law as your law firm, on the terms of our Engagement Agreement.
Set up your company
A short welcome wizard asks where your company is registered (Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States or the British Virgin Islands), its name and its entity type, then a little more about the company and how to reach you. For a UK company, start typing its name to find it on Companies House. Your answers are saved as you go, so Save and sign out lets you finish later.
Start from your Overview
Your Overview opens with a Getting started checklist and a suggested first step. To start your Legal Coverage score, bring in your company's documents with Import Documents on My Company, or upload them to the Corporate Documents folder in My Documents. We read them, fill in your company's details and work out its deadlines.
Take your first action
Generate an agreement, send us a document to review, request a service or book a call with a lawyer. Everything is in the sidebar, and the assistant on your Overview can point you to the right place.
Pricing
Gosai OS is free to use. There is no subscription, and no charge for your account, your team or the dashboard. You pay only for legal work you ask us to do, and you always see the price, or receive a quote, before you are charged.

Overview
The Overview is your home page. It shows where your company stands, and puts the assistant at the centre.
What you will see
- Your company: its name, entity type, jurisdiction, status and registration number.
- Legal Coverage: your Health Check score and the next item to address. Select it to open the Health Check.
- Getting started: four steps for a new account (Company set up, About your company, Your documents and Legal Health Check), with a button for the next one.
- The assistant: ask a question, prepare a document or ask a lawyer for help. See The Assistant below.
- Do this first: after you sign up, a card suggests one first step, based on what you told us brings you here.
The Assistant
The assistant on your Overview is the quickest way to get something done. Ask anything about your legal needs in plain English, by typing or with the microphone. To have a lawyer review a document, choose Upload a document and attach it (see Document Review).
Shortcuts
- Engage a Lawyer: have a document reviewed, or get a viability check for a dispute.
- Generate a Document: ask for an NDA or another agreement. Each template the assistant suggests appears as a card: Prepare in chat collects the details in the conversation, a few at a time, then Generate document creates it, or or open the form takes you to the template's form instead.
- Learn: questions to get you started, such as your filing obligations or what you need before your next deadline.
Custom requests
If what you need is not in Services or Legal Agreements, describe it to the assistant. It asks a few questions, shows Review your request so you can check the details, and Submit for a quote sends it to our lawyers. We agree the fee with you before any work starts. When the assistant suggests templates, it also offers a custom request and a call with one of our lawyers, in case none of them fits.
Conversations
Your conversations are saved in the sidebar under Conversations, newest first. Search them, archive the ones you have finished with, and restore an archived conversation at any time.
Health Check
The Health Check reads your company's documents (the ones you import on My Company or keep in the Corporate Documents folder) and checks your company across the areas that apply to it, such as corporate records, employment, contracts and intellectual property. It gives you a Legal Coverage score and lists what is missing in each area.
Open it from the Legal Coverage score on your Overview or on My Company. The check runs again when new company documents are read, at most once a day, and the page shows when it last ran. Check again runs it straight away.
Acting on an item
- Upload: add the document that covers it.
- Request: ask your lawyer to deal with it. This may involve fees, so we send you a quote first.
- Dismiss: mark it Not applicable or Already covered, or choose Handle later to set it aside for 30 days, after which it returns to the list. Dismissed items are listed separately, and Undo brings one back.
Each area has its own chat, Ask about followed by the area's name, for questions about what was found. Where to focus picks out the gaps that matter most, and Book a consultation sends us a request: your lawyer will be in touch to arrange a time.
My Documents
My Documents holds everything on file for your company: documents you create from our templates, files you upload or import, documents you send for review and reviewed documents we deliver.
Adding documents
- Upload: PDF, Word (DOCX or DOC), PNG or JPG files up to 25 MB, from your computer, Google Drive or Dropbox. Give the file a name and a folder: files in the Corporate Documents folder are also read into your company's records and Health Check. To send a Word (DOCX) file of up to 10 MB for review at the same time, tick Have this document reviewed by a lawyer.
- Import: bring in a batch of documents from Google Drive or Dropbox with Import Documents on My Company. Imported documents are read and filed automatically, and the details they contain fill in My Company.
- Email: send documents to your company's upload address, shown in Settings under Profile. Attachments sent by your team are saved to the Emailed folder.
Finding documents
- Search matches document names, folders and notes.
- Smart Search answers questions across all your documents, for example "Which of our agreements include a non-compete?", and you can ask follow-up questions.
- Filter by file type, and filter the documents you created from our templates by category.
Working with a document
- Open a document to preview it, and use Email Document to send it as an attachment.
- From its menu: Download, Summary (the agreement type, parties, key dates, governing law and a plain-English summary), Move to Folder, Duplicate (for documents created from our templates) and Delete.
- Request Review sends a document to a lawyer for review.
- Waiting on counterparty lists the links you have sent for another party to complete, with Review & generate, Copy link, Resend email and Cancel request.
My Requests
My Requests tracks your company's requests from everyone on your team: document reviews, incorporations, disputes and custom work. Services you request, with their scoping calls, appear only in your own list. The sidebar shows a count when there is something new.
Statuses
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Submitted | We have received your request. |
| In Progress | Our legal team is working on it. |
| Needs Info | We need something from you. The request says what. |
| Payment Required | A payment is waiting, for example a review fee that could not be charged. |
| Completed | The work is done. |
| Cancelled | The request was cancelled. Cancelled requests are hidden from the list by default. |
Inside a request
Open a request to see what you asked for and its thread with Gosai Law. While the request is open, message us whenever you need to, with an attachment if it helps (PDF, Word, PNG or JPG, up to 25 MB). Documents we deliver arrive in the thread, and we email the person who made the request when we reply, update its status, need information or deliver a document. When a request is complete, it asks How did we do?
Starting a request
Requests start where the work is: the assistant on your Overview (document reviews, disputes and custom requests), Services, Incorporation, the Health Check and My Documents. Each one appears here once it is sent.
Search & Notifications
Search in the top bar (or press ⌘K, or Ctrl K on Windows) jumps to the main pages and, once you type two characters, searches your company's documents, contacts and requests.
The bell collects your notifications: deadline reminders, a counterparty who has completed their details, and steps to finish setting up. Select one to open it.
Legal Agreements
Legal Agreements is our template library. Every agreement is drafted and maintained by our lawyers, and you can fill one in within minutes.
Finding an agreement
- Search for an agreement by name.
- Smart Search (the sparkle button in the search box): describe what you need in your own words, for example "I want to hire someone", then press Enter. It searches every jurisdiction and lists your selected jurisdiction first.
- Browse by category: Hire someone, Raise money, Confidentiality, Protect your IP, Launch a product, and Customers & partners.
- Popular agreements are listed first, and View all shows the whole library.
The jurisdiction picker beside the search box sets which jurisdiction's templates you see. The library covers Australia, the United States (Delaware, New York and general US templates), the British Virgin Islands and the Cayman Islands. An agreement available in several jurisdictions is listed once, and opens to show each version.
Filling in a Template
Choosing a template opens its form. Fields are grouped into sections, and each one explains what it needs, with an example.
- Filled in for you: details we already hold come from your company profile, including the company name, signatory, contact details, addresses, governing law, company numbers and entity type. Check them, and change anything before you generate.
- The other party: Fill from My Relationships fills in a party's details from your saved contacts.
- Generate Document creates the agreement as a Word (DOCX) file, downloads it and saves it to My Documents. The other party is added to My Relationships.
- Templates are free to generate.
Asking the other party for their details
If you do not have the other party's details, choose Ask the counterparty to fill them in at the bottom of the form. Pick the fields to ask for and enter their email address, and if you like, their name and a note. We email them a secure link: they do not need an account, and the link expires after 14 days. Follow it under Waiting on counterparty in My Documents, and choose Review & generate once they have answered.
The assistant can also prepare a template with you in the chat, asking for the details a few at a time.
Services
Services are legal matters our lawyers take on for you, such as an Australian Financial Services Licence application or a US money transmitter licence. Search for a service, or browse by need.
- Each service shows a one-line summary and, where they are set, its jurisdiction, starting price and how long it usually takes.
- A service's page sets out what it covers, who it is for, what you get, what is not included, what is useful to have ready and how it works. The final scope is confirmed on a call with us.
- Start scoping brief opens a short conversation that collects what our lawyers need to know. When it has enough, Send to your lawyer sends the brief, and we email you within 24 hours to arrange a scoping call. Nothing is charged at this point.
If no service matches your search, the page offers Ask a lawyer about your search, which starts a custom request in the assistant with your words already in it.
Document Review
Send us a contract and a lawyer reviews it. The reviewed document comes back to you as a Word file with tracked changes and comments, ready to send to the other side.
Asking for a review
Attach the document
On your Overview, open Engage a Lawyer, choose Review a document and attach the file.
Tell us what matters
The assistant asks about the document and what you want the lawyer to focus on, then shows a brief, Ready to send to a lawyer, that you can edit.
Submit
The fee is shown before you submit, with the card saved on your account that it will be charged to. If no card is saved yet, choose Add payment method to save one on Stripe's secure page, then try again from the request in My Requests. Your request then appears in My Requests.
Receive the review
The reviewed document arrives in the request's thread with a note from your lawyer. It is also saved to My Documents, and we email you when it is ready.
You can also use Request Review in My Documents, or tick Have this document reviewed by a lawyer when you upload a file.
Files and fees
- Reviews take Word (DOCX) or PDF files up to 10 MB (Word only when you tick the box as you upload in My Documents).
- The fee depends on the document's length, and is charged to your card when you submit.
- For a document over 25 pages, ask the assistant for a custom quote.
If you have questions about the changes, reply in the request's thread.
Disputes
If you are in a dispute, open Engage a Lawyer on your Overview and choose Get a viability check for a dispute. Answer eight questions about what happened. If there is a written agreement, you can attach it and related documents: up to five PDF or Word files, 10 MB each.
You then receive an initial assessment of your position: how viable it looks (Strong, Moderate, Uncertain or Weak), the factors in your favour, the risks and the next steps. The viability check is free, and it is saved to My Requests. To have a lawyer take the matter on, choose Get Reviewed by Gosai Law.
Incorporation
The Incorporation page helps you choose where and how to set up a company, and asks us to set it up for you.
Choosing a structure
- Search: explore the globe and the list of options, by country. Each option shows its entity type, a short description, its price and how long it usually takes.
- Incorporation Assistant: answer eight multiple-choice questions about your plans, and it suggests structures to consider, then answers your follow-up questions. Its answers are general information, not legal advice.
Options currently cover Australia (Pty Ltd), the United Kingdom (private limited company), the United States (Delaware LLC and C-Corp), Singapore (private limited company), the United Arab Emirates (DMCC free zone LLC), the British Virgin Islands (business company) and the Cayman Islands (exempted company and foundation company).
Requesting an incorporation
Learn more opens an option's page, with its price, timing and what the structure involves. Request sends it to us: a lawyer reviews your request and follows up with next steps, and you can follow it in My Requests. Nothing is charged when you send the request.
Book a Call
Choose Book a Call in the sidebar to book a 30-minute call with one of our lawyers, at a time that works for you, from the calendar on the page.
Calls about a service are arranged separately: when you send a scoping brief, we email you to find a time.
My Company
My Company is your company's record. At the top, a set of cards shows your next deadline, what needs attention, lawyer activity, your to-do list (where you can add your own tasks) and your open requests. Below them are four tabs: Company Details, Org Chart, Relationships and What we know.
Company Details
Your company's legal name, entity type and registration numbers (an ACN and ABN, an EIN, a Company Number or a BC Number, depending on the jurisdiction), with its contact details, registered address, incorporation date and, where relevant, registered agent. Registration numbers and registry details are read from your documents and, for UK companies, from Companies House. Edit Details opens your profile in Settings, where the company's owner can change them.
Further down, as they apply to your company: Company Status (your deadlines), filing history, officers and directors, shareholders, share capital, corporate documents, charges, and licences and permits, with PSCs for UK companies, and beneficial ownership and economic substance for BVI companies. Import Documents brings in documents from Google Drive or Dropbox, and Rescan reads your documents again.
Org Chart
Directors, officers and key people. Add Person adds someone with their title, and you can edit or remove people and Save PDF of the chart. Appointing someone may need a corporate resolution: Request a Corporate Resolution asks us to prepare one.
Relationships
A chart of the parties your company works with, and their documents by category. You manage the parties themselves in My Relationships.
What we know
Facts about your company that you want us to keep in mind. Add something we should know, edit or archive a fact, or confirm that it is Still true.
Companies House
A UK company can Connect to Companies House to link its registry record. Once it is linked, the page shows your confirmation statement and annual accounts dates, and File now asks us to file your confirmation statement.
Deadlines
Your company's deadlines are listed on My Company under Company Status, grouped by year, with the next one shown at the top of the page. They are worked out from your company's registration details and the company documents we read (the ones you import on My Company or keep in the Corporate Documents folder), so the more we have on file, the more complete the list.
For each deadline you can Mark as resolved, Dismiss it, or Assign as task.
Reminders
For the statutory deadlines below, the bell reminds you from 30 days before the due date, and we email the company's account owner 30 days and 7 days before, and again if it becomes overdue. Other deadlines, including those found in your documents, are listed without reminders.
| Jurisdiction | Reminders |
|---|---|
| Australia | ASIC annual review fee, directors' solvency resolution |
| United Kingdom | Confirmation statement, annual accounts (for companies linked to Companies House) |
| British Virgin Islands | Annual government licence fee |
My Employees
Keep your team's records in one place. Add Employee asks who you are adding: a new hire, an existing employee (with an agreement on file, without one, or needing an amendment), a contractor, or an international employee. Then add their name, role, contact details, country, employment type, salary and start date.
Each employee has a Required Documents checklist, and the list shows whether their documents are complete. Upload agreements creates employee records from agreements you already have, and saves the files to the Employee Agreements folder. Offboard records the reason and the last day, and sends the matter to your lawyer, with severance terms if you want them.
My Relationships
Track the companies and people you work with: vendors, clients, partners, service providers, investors and others. Each record holds a contact and their details, the relationship's status (Active, Inactive or Pending), its start date and your notes.
Link Agreement connects a relationship to agreements you created from our templates. When you create one, the other party is added here automatically, and template forms can fill in a party's details from this list.
Elevate
Elevate is our acceleration program for early-stage Web3 projects. It gives a project a clean legal foundation and connects it to our network of investors, ecosystems, exchanges and infrastructure partners. The page introduces our partners, with what each one does and a link to its website.
To join, choose Submit for Elevate and accept the Elevate agreement. Your status then shows Application received, and Elevate member once we accept your application.
Academy
The Academy is our library for founders: more than 140 hand-picked resources in eleven categories, from fundraising to operations, with featured picks and articles from our firm. Search all of it from the box at the top of the page.
Settings
Manage your account and your company from Settings, at the bottom of the sidebar.
- Profile: your contact details and your company's information, such as its legal name, jurisdiction, registration number, entity type and registered address, which only the company's owner can change here. It also shows your company's Email Upload address: documents emailed to it are saved to My Documents. Owners and admins can generate a new address.
- Team: invite people and manage their roles. See Team below.
- Security: send yourself a password reset email (or a password setup email if you signed up with Google), and connect Google Drive or Dropbox under Connected accounts.
- Connected apps: let an assistant app you already use, such as Claude, work with your account. It can view your documents and requests, prepare documents and message our legal team. Create a connector key (you can have two) and follow the setup instructions on the tab.
- Billing: a record of your payments, with the date, item, amount and status of each.
- Docs: this documentation, and our Privacy Policy, Terms of Use and Engagement Agreement.
Team
Invite your colleagues from Settings under Team, and choose a role for each:
- Member: can view and collaborate on documents.
- Admin: can also invite people, manage invitations and remove members.
- Owner: can also change roles, remove admins and transfer ownership to an admin.
There is no limit on team members, and no charge for them. Invitations arrive by email with a link that expires after 48 hours. Your colleague accepts by signing in, or creating an account, with the email address you invited, and joins your company. Everyone on the team shares the company's documents and records, and its requests other than the services each person asks for.
Multiple Companies
If you run more than one company, keep each one separate. Select your company's name in the top bar and choose Add another company: the new company gets its own welcome wizard. Switch between companies from the same menu.
Each company has its own documents, requests, deadlines, Health Check, team and upload address. When you have more than one company, Leave this entity removes your access to one of them. You would need a new invitation to return, and an owner with teammates must transfer ownership first.
